![]() ![]() You could get 100GB for $29.88 for a year now. If you're only looking for lower cost storage with the ability to give public links to folders and files, without worrying about album features, something like GoDaddy's Storage offerings may be a good bet. I'd give more info on *exactly* what you're trying to do for better suggestions (online web albums, links to full size images, etc.). I even have a account that I've had for years that I still renew every year, and even the $23/year option for 1GB of storage is plenty enough for most users, since you don't need to publish full size images at the highest quality settings for online albums. I use dropbox for a lot of things, since I really like it's feature set.īut, I also use HiDrive for some storage, Google Drive for some storage, and also have a hosting account setup with GoDaddy with another 150GB of storage. Here's the main page to their site:īut, for web posting, you don't need the highest quality jpeg settings, and you don't need the full size images, except for special purposes.įor example, you could post many thousands of images that have been downsized to 1080p (1920x1080 pixels) for high quality viewing on HD TV's and computer displays in that much space with room to spare using reasonable quality settings. They have a free version of it for personal use, or other versions for commercial use, with hundreds of different skins to choose from (but, I've played with a number of them and would suggest using the Turtle skin). Then, if you like how it works, either sign up for the "Power" Account (which gives you the software and 40GB of storage using their web hosting) or just get their software and use it to generate the albums that you could upload to your own web site elsewhere (it lets you setup the address and password for ftp transfers so that you can upload your albums to your own web site) I'd suggest the Turtle Skin with their software, as it's got tons of settings options to help you tailor the look and feel of your albums, and you can decide if users can download full size images or not and much more (it's *very* full featured). why don't you try something like jAlbum for 30 days and see how you like it (just use the free 30 day Trial): So, at around 10MB each for full size jpeg images from a higher end camera using normal quality settings, you'd be looking at around 10,000 photos in that much space.īut, you don't need full size images for web posting. Heck, even a Canon 1Dx produces jpeg images that are around 10MB in size for full size 22MP images. Heck, I consider dropbox to be cheap at $99/year for 100GB (and Google is even less expensive). You can get 100GB for $4.99/month with Google. ![]() Any other suggestions to beat Sky Drive? Does Facebook have a limitation other than 1000 photos per album? Thanks, but I need at least 50 GB online and Google drive looks too expensive.
